I am so glad you are here. My name is Leslie, and I would be honored to walk alongside as you discover different pieces of yourself; the pieces that are longing for healing and may feel unknown, as well as the pieces that make you uniquely who you are. I would love to celebrate your accomplishments, encourage you to be courageous, and sit with you during the darkest moments when hardship comes. My motivation as a therapist comes from my deep desire to provide a secure and safe relationship which enables you to share your vulnerabilities and experience increasing emotional safety. I believe this creates an environment where you can learn how to regulate your emotions, and in turn, experience increased emotional safety in other areas of your life. I believe that growing in these areas can diminish insecurities and allow space for you to flourish in the ways you have been created to grow.
I enjoy working with teenagers, adults, and those struggling with any life transitions. I have experience working in the world of child welfare, with at-risk youth, and with the homeless population, all of which have come with stories of complex trauma and severe attachment wounding. My therapeutic approach is holistic in nature. I believe that the body, brain, and nervous system are very connected to our emotional health and well-being. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Internal Family Systems Theory, and am an Adoption Competent Therapist. I love using expressive arts in session as a modality to convey emotions and experiences that lie beneath the surface that sometimes we do not have the words to communicate. I am Christian and am able to provide care in this area and am honored to work with clients of all religions and backgrounds.
Just for fun: I have a large passion for creating ceramic art in my spare time, love being outdoors in the sun with my dog exploring nature, and I enjoy using my creative side in many ways!
You are not alone in your journey and I would love to get to know you and work with you during this time in your life.
